The Growing Together Fellowship (GTF) brings together leaders in Indigenous education to stimulate a collective reimagining of what visionary leadership and an education rooted in Identity Development, Academic Relevance, Holistic Wellness, and Community-Led Design might look like for Indigenous communities.
TWO YEAR LEARNING ARC
GTF is a two year, cohort-driven fellowship in which school and instructional leaders in Indigenous education create a concrete plan for what Mission Driven Teaching, Learning, and Leadership can look like for their school community through regular convenings, professional development and school-based implementation of the Mission Driven Story Cycle.
Year One: Fellows develop a foundational understanding of the Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions that guide transformational Leaders in Indigenous Education. Fellows unpack their school community’s mission for Indigenous Education and utilize a variety of tools to gather data and reflect on the coherence of the mission through the lived experiences of students, families, staff, and community members.
Year Two: Centered on implementing shifts in instruction, policy, and school culture based on community-centered feedback related to mission coherence. Fellows continue to build upon their understanding and relationships to NISN’s Profile of a Leader in Indigenous Education and support their school’s Mission Driven Learning Team.
Applications for the 2026 - 2028 Growing Together Fellowship Cohort will be available soon!
